Terry Bowes appointed new England Head CoachTerry Bowes appointed new England Head Coach

In what is a huge stride forward in the development and progression of England Beach Soccer, Terry Bowes has stepped into the hot seat having been handed the role as Head Coach. The role means he is solely responsible for all International playing and development matters, on and off the pitch.

The England Beach Soccer Association were inundated with enquiries from International and National coaches for the top post which gives a clear indication of the giant strides EBS have made over the past few years.

Bowes, who would be acting as Player/Coach, has previously played for FA Premier League giants Arsenal, and been in the England Beach Soccer scene since the beginning.

“It is an honour to be selected” Terry said, “I have played for 5 different EBS Head Coaches; Neil Pointon, John Scales, John Hawkins, Luke Kerr and Jamie O’Rourke. I have learnt something from all of them and I am dedicated to improving and developing EBS further”

Terry has recently taken a FIFA Instructors course making him one of two people in the UK and only a handful of Beach Soccer individuals in the world to have taken such an introduction.

“From the FIFA Instructors Course you can always learn from the top players and coaches involved in beach soccer. I have experience as a player but I now have to learn quickly as a head coach.”

Terry has quickly set about naming his backroom staff involving David Jones as Team Manager, Craig Seacombe as Goalkeeper Coach, James Corcoran as Head of Delegation and Michelle Patrick as Physio.

“Having good people around me in Dave, Craig, James and Michelle, who will be my backroom team, we have the basis for making the coming years our best.”

The new Head Coach was also very quick to express what he wanted to achieve

“ It is the same as it was as a player; to qualify for the FIFA World Cup Finals. For this to happen I will expect my team to give me 100% in training and during match play.”
